1. For each video and article list/discuss the key concepts you learned.

-"Aesthetics: Philosophy of the Arts": This video discusses the different theories philosophers had on art that made it "work".  Like Aristotle thought, there was a law to art and its aesthetic.
-"CARTA: Evolutionary Origins of Art and Aesthetics: Neurobiology, Neurology and Art and Aesthetics": This video discusses how the aesthetics of art controls the brain.  Artists create ways in there artwork so effective on the brain that it can react to color, line, or shape and how we perceive it.
-"What the brain draws from: Art and neuroscience": This article discusses how artists are able to create certain abilities in their artworks that neurologists say the brain can pick up.  These certain abilities involve the use of lines and emotions in the faces.

2. Which philosopher's theroy on aesthetics do you feel is most important? Be sure to mention the philosphers name, era (time in history), and contribution to the aesthetic theory in your response.

-Aristotle's theory on aesthetics was developed during the Ancient Greece era.  He wrote the book on art theory called The Poetics which focused on the critique of the arts.  He found the chief forms of beauty were defined by order, symmetry, and definition.  This was demonstrated by mathematical sciences.  The specific rules of composition he also touched on were the three unities: action, time, and place.

3. What do you think about Changeux and Ramachandran scientific view of aesthetics and art? What was the most interesting fact you discovered from each speakers lecture?

-Changeux and Ramachandran scientific view is quite interesting.  They point out many important points in their arguments that artists use quite often that makes "signals" that our brain can pick up like contrast, symmetry, and grouping.  I found most interesting was the use of grouping/binding where several images come together to make one.  Such as the picture of the human head and the people inside.  The people inside the human head were working together on mechanical objects to make the human see like he was watching a film.

4. How do the videos and article relate to the readings in the text?

-The videos and article relate to the readings in the text because they discuss the aesthetics of art.  Art has more to it than it just being paintings and drawings.  It has a lot to do with philosophy and neurology because of the way we think and can interpret the way we see art.

5. What is your opinion of the films and article? How do they add depth to understanding of the topics in your reading in the text?

-The films and article add a lot more depth to understanding not just the text but also art itself.  There are so many different ways to view an art piece just as the text said, there are many themes to art.  There are so many factors that influence the way we can perceive art like color, shapes, symmetry, lines, and grouping.
