Now that you've been through this course, What is art? How would you define it now compared to your intial posting? -Art can be described in a number of ways.   There is no set definition in my opinion because anyone could have the ability to create something .  Art can also be a number of things such as film, poetry, and music, not just paintings or drawings. 3. Who was your favorite artist in your original posting and who is your favorite visual artist now? If there is a difference, why do you think so? If you have the same favorite artist, why do you think so? -My favorite artist before was Dali and it still is.  Although I don't agree with his political views, his artwork is incredible.  I love his surrealistic work and how connects that to real world problems. 4. 1. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned. The Lowdown on Lowbrow: West Coast Pop Art talks about the influence that politics and war had on pop art through the use of  comic books, B-movies, rock ’n’ roll, surfing, hot rods, and Cold War imagery. *Tate Modern video was not available* An Acquiring Mind: Philippe de Montebello and The Metropolitan Museum of Art talks about Montebello who demanded innovation in conservation techniques. 2. Do the videos relate to the creation of your Art Exhibition project? If yes, explain how. If no, explain why not. 1. Explain why you selected each of the TWO videos you choose from the selection listed above. -I have always found Picasso and Matisse because they were such amazing artists especially the way they did their figures. Dada and Surrealism was also as unique as the two artists because it followed its own creative rules. 2. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned. -Expressing oneself through art was a new movement that was taking place in the world.  It explored new ways of color, form in nature and body figure, politics, and regular everyday objects such as a urinal or bowls. 3. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text? -They talk about the artists and movements that were really big and what they did to change art during that time period. 4. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of the readings and art concepts? -The films are always better because the readings don't go into depth as much as the films do....

1. Include the analysis and description (art criticism steps) of the three (3) inspiration pieces. -1. The mask is made of wood.  It is also very elongated where the nose is.  It carries small features in the eyes, base of the nose, mouth, and ears.  It gives off a very surprising appearance as the eyebrows curve over the eyes helping create the long faced look.   2. This mask is made of stone and is believed to be one of the first masks made.  It is very simple, most likely smooth.  The features are very open around the eyes and mouth.  There is also a small detail above the eyes, possibly a mark meaning eyebrows, a headband, or a hairline.  3. These masks use a lot more color than the last two described.  Yellow is the main color although because it is Winter, the cheeks and chin are red to show a rosy color, typical skin color change during this season from the cold.  Also depicting a wintery season, they have raccoon "ta...
